X 25-01-2010: Firebeatz - 2 Time's The Charm/Magic People Out Now [Blackbird] - Beatport 2 weeks exclusive!

Alas, January is drawing to a close. New Year's awesome celebrations are nothing but a distant memory and resolutions are, for most, already falling by the wayside.
Firebeatz though are keeping up the momentum and ensuring the year gets off to a fabulous start with their January 25th release of single 2 Time's the Charm (Blackbird 2010).

The result of a collaboration between 2 talented young producers/DJs, Tim Benjamin and Jurgio Ratello, Firebeatz is primarily a house outfit. Yet the pair also blend elements of minimal, drum n bass and hip-hop to create a unique and compelling sound. Since meeting in 2007 at Tilburg's Rockacademie, where both are studying to become mixing engineers, they have amassed an impressive series of remixes, including their awesome re-edit of R.O.N.N. & Thice Santoro's What? which was released by Flamingo Recordings in December and saw some heavy club rotation. They also released their debut EP, Funked, on Azucar Recordings, receiving accolades from within the scene and some big-name support on the turntables.

2 Time's the Charm will undoubtedly be just as successful for the duo. Let its reverberating, electro-tinged moments ride you into the rest of 2010 and soon you'll be anything other than bothered that you failed to stick to your New Year's resolutions. The track's understated and intelligent structure and awesome balance between the minimal and full-bodied elements combine to create a track that has the potential to really get under your skin. B-side Magic People demonstrates a similar level of thought and high production values, building nicely to create a perfect club tune with a great sound.

The release signals the start of a busy year for the boys, with both new tunes and remixes already in development for the coming months. Can you say 'one to watch for 2010'? If you can, then you definitely should.

X 26-01-2010: Ernesto vs Bastian – Hailing From New York [High Contrast Recordings]

After dropping ‘Killertone’ the brotherhood who go by the name of Ernesto vs Bastian drop another contender for bigroom mayhem. ‘Hailing from New York’ has that unique fresh groove what makes that Ernesto vs. Bastian sound so loved by the many. Coming it 2 different versions the song is built around that big dreamy yet full on hands-in-the-air breakdown. Road tested by the boys themselves it’s now time to unleash this beast.

X 26-01-2010: Robert Gitelman – Fluidum/Milestone [High Contrast Nu Breed]

Israeli bad boy Robert Gitelman returns on High Contrast Nu Breed with this storming 2-tracker. Two tracks filled with bang-on uplifting trance with a nice techy edge to it.
Already having the support by some big guns, they are cooked up and served on you now!

X 26-01-2010 Tritonal - Suede EP [GARUDA]

2009 saw the confirmation of Tritonal’s transformation from meteorically rising hot prospects to established players in the trance scene with a string of top-notch productions and a well-earned reputation for killer live sets, and they kick off 2010 in style with ‘Suede’. Airy, energetic and uncompromisingly uplifting, having already made its way onto the playlists of influential broadcasts such as A State of Trance twice (Tune of the Week), Trance Around the World twice, Ferry Corsten's Countdown and Global DJ Broadcast this is set to be become essential Anthem from the duo. On the flipside, remix duties are provided by German duo Stoneface & Terminal, who turn out a pumping, crowd-pleaser of a rework. Another new track ‘Sideswing’ completes the package; cue deep cutting basslines and distorted, grimy synths galore for a progressive-tinged conclusion to another essential release that hints at even greater things to follow over the coming year!
